1998-2015

As a professor of geology at the University of Idaho from 1998-2014, I taught numerous undergraduate and graduate level courses, most of which involved some field component. I also taught numerous field-based courses and field trips. Course specifics are outlined below.

Physical Geology [UG]

Taught 12 times.

Included 4 consecutive days of 1-day field trips into the Snake River canyon for up to 300 students.

Included a 4-day capstone field trip to the Lake Mead and Valley of Fire State Park area, Nevada.

Taught 5 times.

Three-week duration field course on introductory field mapping, stratigraphy, and sedimentology, Utah.

Included a 2-day field trip to the Channeled Scablands, Washington.

Multiple field trips.

I offered short-courses to the Arches and Canyonlands National Park areas of Utah multiple times.

Included a 3-day field trip to the site of the Borah Peak, Idaho earthquake rupture (1983; M6.9).
